Nothing Phone (2) Review (3.5/5 Stars)

Briefly summarised

-------------------------

The Good

* Screen is sharp with good colours

* Battery

* Smoothness/Performance

* User Interface + feature-set

* Timely software updates and bug fixes

* Glyph lights are sometimes useful

* Build quality

* Stock transparent bumper case (purchased separately)

The Average

* Network reception problematic in low signal areas || Wi-Fi calling (sometimes buggy).
 Network issues were very prominent after the launch and subsequent updates improved the situation. However, the above mentioned issues still present

* Speakers a little on the brighter side (personal taste)

* Volume control | Just one step adjustment either makes it too loud or too soft (somewhere in the middle of the adjustment mark)

The Bad

* Camera / Night photography | 2x camera is a joke even in broad daylight

* Ram management is very poor and applications are frequently thrown out of memory. RAM Booster does nothing to address this

* IPV6 issues on Wi-Fi within some applications. Images will load slowly or not at all

* Ringtone and notification tone selection

* The stock screen protector (purchased separately) blocks visibility with polarised glasses when the phone is in portrait orientation

Tl;dr

Generally good hardware
Below average camera performance
Network driver issues

Additional comments: Much like the initial days of OnePlus, the camera performance is the area with least amount of finesse. RAM Booster is a gimmick with hardly any palpable benefits. Feedback from the community is also very negative regarding the same. Although, the device can be recommended if the camera is improved by at least 20-30%. Instead of launching newer and cheaper devices including a mobile phone (CMF) to improve market share and investor impressions, 'Nothing' should polish the basics on their flagship.

Average VFM factor. If you can spend more then please do so and skip the Nothing Phone (2)
